Obama's latest doc fix draws criticism

Although President Obama's proposed $3.73 trillion budget for 2012 delays a scheduled 25 percent cut in the sustainable growth rate (SGR), it comes with plans to squeeze $62 billion in savings out of Medicare and Medicaid payments to hospitals and doctors and via expanded use of generic drugs in federal health programs. While physicians' groups applaud the reprieve, hospital groups have expressed disappointment with proposed cuts that eliminate the Children's Hospital Graduate Medical Education program and ask all states to do more with less. -Read more about Obama's budget in FierceHealthcare here and here
